Sour News #004: Bike Checks, Radavist, Spring at Sour Bicycles!
Lot's going on, we even have the videos to prove it...
Three Bike Checks, The Radavist, Flickr, Eurobike, It’s Spring at Sour Bicycles!
In the past weeks, springtime has really shown up to Dresden. Trees are in full bloom, as are everyone’s allergies. We’re short staffed at Sour right now, but doing everything we can to keep up with all the spring orders, comments, and questions! Thanks everyone for the support!
In this newsletter we have reminders about some of the events coming up where you can find Sour, some new additions to the Sour-verse, and maybe more than one hint about some of the new-new. Enjoy!

Coming up at Sour Bicycles!
Bespoked Manchester - Bespoked returns to the UK in this mid-year edition of the massively successful Bespoked Dresden last October. Honestly, just the the venue alone looks worth the visit! We’ve teamed up with White Industries / Astral Cycling to be their bike partner at Eurobike and Bespoked Manchester. See you there!

Bike Check Videos Galore!
Just like spargel recipes popping out of the ground, springtime ultra-races are popping up left and right. We had the pleasure of meeting up with Leanne, Sebastian, and Quinda to ask some questions and film the bikes they used to absolutely smash at the Hellenic Mountain Race and Highland Trail 550 this past week.
Leanne at Hellenic Mountain Race
Leanne joined her friend Jack (also on a Sour bike!) and rode to the start of the Hellenic Mountain Race in Meteora. Starting in Meteora and finishing in Nafpaktos, Greece, the HMR includes no less than 883km and 27,000 meters of climbing! Wild!
Leanne ended up riding her Pasta Party to third place in the women’s field after mud, rain, and literally almost getting struck by lightning. To say Leanne is a badass would be selling it short! Congrats Leanne!
Check out Leanne’s tour-then-shred Pasta Party below! If you’re wondering where you can score one of her custom bags, that’s right here.
Sebastian at Hellenic Mountain Race
Also part of the Greek-party, Sebastian will travel from home in Innsbruck to race the HMR as well. Also on a Pasta Party, also tall and blonde, Sebastian is went extra lightweight in the hopes of flying close the sun and laying down a fast time.
Unlike Icarus, Sebastian’s wings did not melt and he proceeded to ride his minimally loaded Pasta Party to a third place finish in the overall classification! Not to mention 2/3 bikes on the podium were steel! Congrats Sebastian!
Quinda at Highland Trail 550
Last but not least, SRD Athlete Quinda Verheul is fresh off the Highland Trail all the way up in Scotland, having ridden her prototype Sour to a fourth place! The HT550 is known as one of the hardest (and wettest!) races of its kind. But real talk, aren’t all these races just really, really hard? Check out Quinda’s bike check video below all about her setup for this wet and windy race in the far north!
Sour Bicycles on Flickr
We’ve been asked this a lot, and fair is fair, we’ve been pretty lazy, but now we’re making up for it, promise! We’re uploading all our documented bikes to Flickr! This means so much. This means you can check colors, sizes, compatibilities, all visually! Not sure how yellow that yellow gloss is? Yeah, we have photos of that. Your frame bag maker need some visual feedback? Yep, that too. Click the link below to head over and peep the first albums. Please keep in mind when shopping colors, your screen and other variables will mean that your frame will differ ever so slightly.
We’ve even uploaded a couple albums of never-before-seen bikes!
We Miss All-City Too…
In case you missed this video, Russ from Path Less Pedaled visited Chariot Bike last year after the MADE Bike Show. We love the chat between Russ and Julia about the shop and its history, the vintage cameras, and of course those sweet, sweet Sour bikes. And if you’re wondering about the title, check out this article from the Radavist.

Hey, sweet bikes!
Petor Georgallou came down to Dresden not too long ago and documented our building process in our facility just outside of Dresden. We loved reading Petor’s take on something we’ve been doing for almost three years now, and thusly can hardly see the forest through the trees anymore. Petor has a unique outside perspective, and his amazing photography really helps back that up. Enjoy!
Petor Rides and Reviews
The bike with no name.
Petor G back with another banger, this time reviewing the SRD Single Pivot frame we sent to him to play around on and review. Petor isn’t a traditional mountain biker, in fact, I don’t think he’d even consider himself a traditional cyclist, whatever that may be… Petor previously built custom frames as a way to trick people into buying works of art, and now spends most of his time behind a lens, at his keyboard, and roaming around Margate, UK. All this goes to say, who better to review a big, steel, single pivot mountain bike…?
