Sour News #005: Who Turned Summer Off?
Riding bikes in the fall is a special thing. True, a long ride in the sun with friends is summer-specialty, but the crisp mornings, colorful canopy, and hero dirt really cement the fall riding season as the best, if not the second best riding season. Here in Dresden, the mornings are getting crispy for sure, and the Heide is looking stunning! No time like the present to get out there and enjoy it!
Bespoked Dresden is Almost Here!
Bespoked is Europe’s largest handmade bike show and it’s back again this year in Dresden, and this time with even more builders, artisans, and bike nerds! We love nerding out on what everyone else is doing in Dresden and afar, and Bespoked is by far the highest concentration of people building bikes in the most creative ways.
This year we’re planning on bringing a crew up to the airport just like last year. Not only will we have the whole range of Sour bikes, but also all sorts of things to do, talk about, and drink at our stand. We’re really working hard on the show and hope to see you there!
We also have a couple events planned outside the venue! Sign up for one, or both of the Sour x Hunt rides at Bespoked 19 and 20 October below!
Coming up at Sour Bicycles!

Something Else? - Are we missing anything, let us know!
Sour Full Suspension Frames on Flickr!
While we do our best to keep up with Clueless, Purple Haze, Pasta Party, and Crumble orders, we are also really starting to cook along with the Double Choc and Cowboy Cookie frames! We’ve had some amazing builds and paint jobs roll and walk out of Sour HQ recently. We’ve updated the Flickr with a couple frames and completes. Enjoy!

John Watson has been a mainstay for just about as long as a lot of us have been “into” bikes. John is at the beating heart of The Radavist, a beautiful website for cycling culture spun out of Prolly is not Probably, a website some of us once called “home”. We love John, and we love this article.

You might not know the name Grant Petersen, and honestly, that’s okay. But if you’ve never heard of the man behind the famous MB-0 (Zip) and many other Bridgestone bikes, influenced countless other builders and brands, as well as written a number of (sometimes polarizing) books - Now’s a good time to check him out. Oh yeah, did we mention he started Rivendell Bicycle Works?
We like long rides, short rides, fast rides, slow rides… However you’re riding a bike, you’re most likely doing it right.
Thanks!
As always, thanks for your support, your patience, or even just reading along! It’s hard being a small bike brand in 2024, but all your messages and photos really make it all worth it.
Thanks,
Team Sour
…Whoa! You made it all the way down here? Well, as a thank you for the effort, here’s a teaser of the special edition “tools” we’ll have at Bespoked.
