Sour News #001! New Website, 2024 Plans, Bike Shows, It's All Here!

Website Updates, 2024 Plans, It's all here!

New Website, a Carbon Fork, We’re on MTB-News and Big Plans in 2024!

Welcome to the new and improved Sour newsletter! Click the button below to share the newsletter with someone else that should be subscribed.

We’ll keep these to a minimum, we know you have plenty to do, but we want to share a number of things going on at Sour Bicycles, cool things we’ve seen on the interwebs, and of course all things bike!

Coming up at Sour Bicycles!

  • Moohunt - A top secret scavenger hunt behind Sour HQ. Spaces are über limited, but if you know how to sign up, do it now!

    • Secret Location, Dresden! 9 December 2023

  • Atlas Mountain Race - Okay, so we’re not actually going to be at the AMR this year, but our sponsored athlete Quinda Verheul will be! And some say she might be riding a very special prototype! We’ll have live tracking on the site when the race starts. Are you riding? Let us know!

    • AMR2024 starting in Marrakesh - 9 Feb 2024

  • Cycling World Dusseldorf - Now our second year going to CW in Dusseldorf, but the first time with our bikes, instead of just our bikes. We’d love to hook up!

  • Bike Festival Riva 2024 - Dolce vita, bike racing, and season opening at Lake Garda in Italy! This will be our first time going to such a big show, but we’re stoked for it. Come hang!

    • Riva del Garda, Italy - 2-5 May 2024

Cycling World Headquarters!

Watch

Sour Bicycles on MTB-News.de

I’m convinced that hell is just a place where you have to constantly listen to recordings of yourself talking, and yet, here we are. At the recent DT Swiss Craft Bikes Days MTB-News interviewed us and we got to talk about our dirty Big Fun. They even had to vacuum the bike stand after taking the Big Fun off lol.

Tailfin ❤️ Sour Bicycles: Quinda Verheul Bike Check

Quinda’s Pasta Party has seen some stuff. This Pasta Party has done more kilometers in its short lifetime than some of us (me) do in a decade! Hope1000, Hellenic Mountain Race, Silk Road Mountain Race, the palmares of this rig, and Quinda, is long. Watch Quinda give a quick run-down of her bike including our favorite Schwalbe XC tires and the Tailfin Aeropack!

Watch, and listen, to a great Sour Clueless Build

Parallel HQ in Rotterdam built this very pink, very fast Sour Clueless and made a whole ASMR-style video together with Yorick Leusink! Sit back and enjoy!

Scope of Work on pneumatic tires

Without tires, bikes would suck. With tires, bikes are really, really cool. That’s honestly just simple science. Scope of Work is an amazing design-oriented newsletter that Two Tone shared a while ago (subscribe over there too!). Sure, it’s often car-oriented, but you’ll get the point!

Bonus: If you’ve ever wondered what they did before rubber tires, here’s one of the answers: Trove NLA

Sour Business Fork

The boss-man requires me to plug Sour at least once in the newsletter. But honestly, it’s my pleasure… the Business Fork is super sick, does all the things, and is super safe as well.

EFBE Testing

The Sour Business Fork is the first fork of its kind to pass the TRI-TEST®, a test developed to really put gravel forks through the wringer. We passed, and honestly, we were a little surprised ourselves…! Proud and happy, but also happily-surprised. <3

Check out this blogpost and our web shop for more information about the fork:

Or check out this deep-dive article written by Cory at Bike Rumor!

Thanks!

AI-Imagery is still pretty weird. This newsletter allows me to generate AI images, so why wouldn’t I do just that? This prompt is “the ideal gravel bike on top of a Bavarian Alp”… Apparently the ideal gravel bike is a MTB-hybrid with a kickstand! Who would have thought?

Thanks for tuning in to this newsletter! We’ll try to make this a bi-weekly thing, but no promises. Any tips or tricks, events, or cool things we should know about, just whack it in a reply!

Thanks,
Team Sour
